Radiation Oncology coding and billing

Hello! I am new to radiation oncology coding and billing. Does anyone have any resources, cheat sheets or tips they would be willing to share with me? Anything would be greatly appreciated! I am tasked with coding radiation therapy, charge entry and working back end denials that have been sitting for awhile.

Also, my employer is looking to send me to a workshop or seminar. Does anyone know of any on the east coast after October 1st?

49568 mesh implantation bundling to wrong hernia repair

BCBS is denying payment on 49568 (mesh implantation). I billed for CPT codes 49560 (incisional hernia repair), 49585 (umbilical hernia repair) with an XS modifier to indicate a different surgical site, and 49568 (mesh). Both hernia procedures were paid, but they won’t pay the mesh code because they say they have bundled it with the hernia that does not allow for separate mesh coding, (the 49585). What modifier would I use to have the insurance not bundle the mesh with the 49585 and appropriately pay it as an add on to the 49560? Thank you!

Hormone Pellet Insertion

My Doctors are wanting to allow an RN we have on staff to do pellet insertions which is in the scope of practice for TN. My question is, what are the billing ramifications of this? Would this be billed in a different way than if it were done by the Doctor? Thanks in advance for any help!
