Norma A. Panther and Kiosha T. Forston | Region 4 – Southeast NAB Representatives

Hello Region 4!  My name is Norma A. Panther; I have been an AAPC member and certified coder since 1996.  I have watched AAPC grow and bloom providing valuable education and resources over the years.  I am very excited to be a part of the National Advisory Board (NAB) for 2018-2021!  Just a little about me, because as a NAB member, my focus is the membership.

I have been in the medical field in a variety of capacities; coder, compliance auditor, and educator for over 25 years.  I hold multiple AAPC certifications that have advanced my career.  My specialties are: E/M, Interventional Radiology, Oncology, General Surgery, Cardiology and Urology auditing just to name a few.  I am proficient with most Microsoft applications and an expert with PowerPoint.  I have a passion for sharing my knowledge as represented by my many speaking engagements and chapter appearances.  I have had the honor of being a three time AAPC HEALTHCON Speaker.  In addition, I have been a speaker for professional organizations such as the Professional Association of Health Care Office Management (PAHCOM), Oncology Managers of Florida (OMF) and many others.  When I’m not eating, breathing, and dreaming about medical coding, I enjoy spending time with family, traveling, and reading fiction.

I am dedicated to helping the coding community succeed.  I have mentored many coders through the certification process, served as an AAPC chapter officer multiple times (about 16, but who’s counting), and provided local classes to educate aspiring coders.  I am hopeful that my past experiences as a member will help me serve you, the membership, in the future.
