The Salary Survey Calculator allows each user to select their location and more than 10 additional parameters to determine an average salary that matches the user’s situation, based on survey responses. As filters are chosen, the displayed average and graphic adjusts automatically, as do the other filter possibilities – removing criteria if there are no matching survey responses. A chart representation displays where that average sits in a range from $20,000/year to $80,000/year, as most salaries outside of those boundaries represent the rare outliers. General data on state-specific averages is displayed beneath the calculator, with links to pages for each state, offering more analysis and data on that area.

Employees and employers alike should use this calculator to determine if their workplace salaries are fair, considering various common factors of the wage-setting process. The tool can add important information to every compensation conversation for those in the business of healthcare, but this data alone should not determine an individual’s salary.

Given the current AAPC membership and high number of survey participants, statistics reported by this salary calculator represent a 99% confidence level with a margin of error of ± 0.9%. The overall average salary for healthcare business professionals is $51,889, while the average credentialed AAPC member makes about $54,500.
