The role of the National Advisory Board (NAB) is to advise AAPC leadership on issues, trends and member needs and enthusiastically promote and support the mission of AAPC and the business of healthcare. The NAB works with the national office for the betterment of the entire membership and the healthcare community through active participation in nationally sponsored conferences, events, publications, educational programs and activities. NAB members write articles and speak at local chapters, conferences and other healthcare-related events. Each NAB representative becomes an ambassador for AAPC and its members.
We are available to you and hope we can establish a relationship with you over our 3-year NAB term. Both of us will work together at the Anaheim, CA AAPC Regional conference in September to deliver a presentation on “EHR Templates, Cut & Paste and Copy Forward Functions.” If you are able to attend the conference, please find us and say hello.
We invite you to engage with us by commenting on our Healthcare Business Monthly articles, which can be accessed at the AAPC Knowledge Center. By typing either of our names in the search bar, you can see what we have published and post comments. Mary’s recent articles include “Train radiologists and physicians to work together to capture this deadly disease in the medical record” (May) and “Getting a Visual on Patients May Present Problems.” Mike’s articles have dealt with a patient’s request to access, amend and co-author the medical record. In July, “Extinguish Coder and Medical Staff Burnout” will be published in HBM.
We will reach out to you through messages like this every two months. We are honored to serve you!
Sincerely,
Mary & Mike
