Great article on Scribes and support of Physicians. My query in this is the use of copy and pasting of previous recent encounter to be used on a new note. I am seeing same physician copying and different physician coping on the same patient by the scribe. It seems to me that this is a major compliance issue and a complete disservice to the physician if he/she is infact actually doing the work and the scribe is copying documentation. Does this make the physician complicit in the error? My answer would be yes. This will cost everyone due to incorrect documentation. I am not a compliance expert but I am surely watching out for these errors.
